Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Martin Jacobson’s early ambition was to become a top chef. After graduating from culinary high school and serving in the Royal Swedish Navy, his plans to work in Barcelona’s fine dining scene were derailed, leading him to focus on his growing passion for poker.
At 18, Martin was drawn to poker’s competitive nature, playing home games and online tournaments. In 2008, he qualified for his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. Despite being eliminated early, the experience ignited a deeper drive. Shortly after, he placed 3rd in the European Poker Tour (EPT) Budapest, winning €280,000, which boosted his confidence and bankroll.
Over the next few years, Martin became a regular on the European Poker Tour, breaking records and earning the Online Qualifier of the Year Award. In 2013, he secured his first live tournament win in London, a victory that solidified his confidence in major events.
In 2014, Martin reached the pinnacle of his career, winning the WSOP Main Event and $10 million. His incredible comeback earned him global praise, the GPI Tournament Performance of the Year Award, and induction into the Swedish Poker Hall of Fame.
Now based in London, Martin balances his time between poker, fitness, mixed martial arts, and angel investing. Passionate about a holistic lifestyle, he also enjoys mentoring entrepreneurs and continues to pursue excellence in everything he does.
